Pink is everywhere when you look. ‘There is no colour in nature to surpass it.’ Robert Lynd
Pink has never really been a colour I've been drawn to but living in The Gap and watching the sun set behind the hills has changed my mind. There is nothing like a pink evening sky to calm the soul and invite gentle solitude. Pink is everywhere when you look and as Robert Lynd tells us, ‘There is no colour in nature to surpass it.’ In these works, I've used pink as a way to create a sense of quiet and peace. A colour associated with innocence, nurture and nostalgia. A colour for rest and contemplation.
